How the game works
Planks are pinned to the bench by coloured bolts. Tap a bolt to unscrew it; it flies to the tray at the bottom. Three bolts of the same colour in the tray clear together and free their slots. Free every bolt holding a plank and the plank lifts away, uncovering the layer beneath. Clear the board to finish the level.
The tray is the puzzle
The tray has a limited number of slots. A bolt sits there until two more of its colour join it, so unscrewing whatever is easiest first is how you end up with four colours parked and no room to finish any of them. Look at what a plank is hiding before you free it.
Par, and why the stars are not about speed
Each level shows a par — the most tray slots a clean solution ever needs — and a peak, the most you have filled at once this attempt. Three stars means your peak stayed within par. There is no timer: taking an hour over a board costs you nothing.
“The board cannot be finished”
If the tray fills with colours that can no longer make a set, the Game tells you straight away instead of letting you play on. Use Undo to step back, +1 Slot to make room, or restart the level — restarting is always free and never costs progress you have already banked.
Hints, extra slots and undo
Tools are bought with Cogs, which you earn by playing, or by watching an optional rewarded ad. A hint points at a bolt that keeps the board solvable. None of them are required to finish any level — every level was built from a solution that was checked.
Progress, woods and the daily board
Progress, stars, Cogs and cosmetics are saved on your device. Clearing levels earns pieces of a wooden keepsake — five pieces complete one. There is a daily board with a streak, and an endless run that posts to a global leaderboard if you are online.
Purchases & restoring
Bought something and not received it, or moved to a new device? Open the shop or the Bench pass page and tap Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to the Apple or Google account that made them, so restore while signed in to that account.
The Bench pass is an auto-renewing monthly subscription with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; it stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google — we cannot issue them. Note that woods the pass lends you go back when it ends, unless you bought them outright with Cogs.
Lost progress
Because progress is stored on the device, deleting the Game removes it. We cannot recover progress from a deleted install or a lost device. Your leaderboard entry lives on our servers and comes back with your anonymous ID.
